"DESIGNING DISOBEDIENCE" Workshop Development and Detail
DESIGNING DISOBEDIENCE is a five-session graphic communication workshop exploring critical judgement and creative agency.
What does it mean to think independently in design? How do we question established conventions, negotiate creative decisions, and challenge the boundaries of authorship?
Designing Disobedience is an experimental, research-led workshop series inviting participants to explore the relationships between design research, ethical judgement, creative agency and critical reflection.
Across five interconnected sessions, participants will engage in discussion, experimentation, collaborative inquiry and reflective practice. Rather than prescribing correct answers or predetermined outcomes, the workshops encourage participants to reconsider familiar approaches to making, questioning and evaluating design.
Disobedience is approached not simply as resistance, but as an opportunity to develop independent judgement, embrace uncertainty and reconsider the conditions under which creative decisions are made.
Provisional dates: 15 November – 3 December 2026
Format: Five interconnected workshop sessions
Registration: Email x.tang@gsa.ac.uk to express your interest.
