"THE HOMEWORK PASS" Creative Teaching Experience Tool Design
What if the reward for learning was a little more freedom from learning? The Homework Pass is a small teaching-design experiment that introduces reward, choice, and play into the classroom. Rather than positioning homework as an obligation that students simply have to complete, the pass encourages students to think about learning as something driven by curiosity, participation, and personal motivation.
By earning the choice to skip an assignment, students gain a small sense of agency over their learning experience. The aim is not to encourage students to do less, but to create a more interactive relationship with learning where participation feels meaningful, rewards feel tangible, and learning is valued beyond simply completing homework. Learn because you want to learn, not simply because you have homework to do.
