"2026 ACEDEMIC SERVICE RATE" Quote Slip Design

This design uses the format of a retail receipt to frame academic tutoring and design education as a structured, itemised service. By borrowing the visual language of everyday transactions, the work makes visible the relationship between education, value, labour and commercial exchange. The receipt format allows each course or service to be listed as an “item”, turning abstract forms of academic support, such as research thinking, portfolio review and proposal development, into priced, accountable and clearly defined forms of pedagogical labour.

The design is intentionally minimal, monochrome and text-based. Its receipt-like layout, barcode, order number, pricing structure and item count create a tension between professional academic guidance and the commercial systems through which education is often accessed. Rather than presenting tutoring as a luxury brand or promotional poster, the receipt form makes the transaction transparent, direct and slightly critical.
